eBay Final concertThe Beatles' final paid concert of their career took place on 29 August at Candlestick Park in San Francisco, California. The band played to an audience of 25,000, leaving 7,000 tickets unsold. A local company called Tempo Productions was in charge of the arrangements. This is a rare and highly collectable full ticket to The Beatles' last concert in 1966 at Candlestick Park. The ticket is in excellent condition, graded PSA 7, and is a must-have for any serious Beatles or music memorabilia collector. The iconic band needs no introduction and their influence on the rock and pop music industry is immeasurable. This ticket not only represents a piece of history but also a tangible connection to the electric atmosphere of that final performance. Don't miss your chance to own this exceptional piece of entertainment memorabilia Live: Candlestick Park, San Francisco: The Beatles’ final concertAlthough they made an unannounced live appearance in January 1969 on the rooftop of the Apple building, The Beatles’ final live concert took place on 29 August 1966 at Candlestick Park in San Francisco, California There was a big talk at Candlestick Park that this had got to end. At that San Francisco gig it seemed that this could possibly be the last time, but I never felt 100% certain till we got back to London.John wanted to give up more than the others. He said that he’d had enough.Ringo Park’s capacity was 42,500, but only 25,000 tickets were sold, leaving large sections of unsold seats. Fans paid between $4.50 and $6.50 for tickets, and The Beatles’ fee was around $90,000. The show’s promoter was local company Tempo Productions. The Beatles took 65% of the gross, the city of San Francisco took 15% of paid admissions and were given 50 free tickets. This arrangement, coupled with low ticket sales and other unexpected expenses resulted in a financial loss for Tempo Productions Candlestick Park was the home of the baseball team the San Francisco Giants. The stage was located just behind second base on the field, and was five feet high and surrounded by a six-foot high wire fence. The compère was ‘Emperor’ Gene Nelson of KYA 1260 AM, and the support acts were, in order of appearance, The Remains, Bobby Hebb, The Cyrkle and The Ronettes. The show began at 8pm.I was the MC, and, as any Giants fans will know, Candlestick Park in August, at night, was cold, foggy and windy. The funniest thing this night was one of the warm-up acts, Bobby Hebb. He stood up on the stage at Candlestick Park, with the fog, and the wind blowing, and he was singing ‘Sunny’! It was tough anyway to work a ballpark as an MC, especially as The Beatles were taking their time to get out. I was trying to entertain a crowd that was shouting, ‘Beatles, Beatles, Beatles.’The dressing room was chaos. There were loads of people there. The press tried to get passes for their kids and the singer Joan Baez was in there. Any local celebrity, who was in town, was in the dressing room. They were having a party in there. They were having a perfectly wonderful time, while I was freezing my buns off on second base ’Emperor’ Gene NelsonThe Beatles Off The Record, Keith BadmanThe Beatles took to the stage at 9.27pm, and performed 11 songs: ‘Rock And Roll Music’, ‘She’s A Woman’, ‘If I Needed Someone’, ‘Day Tripper’, ‘Baby’s In Black’, ‘I Feel Fine’, ‘Yesterday’ ‘I Wanna Be Your Man’, ‘Nowhere Man’, ‘Paperback Writer’, and ‘Long Tall Sally’.The group knew it was to be their final concert. Recognising its significance, John Lennon and Paul McCartney took a camera onto the stage, with which they took pictures of the crowd, the rest of the group, and themselves at arm’s length “Before one of the last numbers, we actually set up this camera, I think it had a fisheye, a wide-angle lens. We set it up on the amplifier and Ringo came off the drums, and we stood with our backs to the audience and posed for a photograph, because we knew that was the last show.”George HarrisonAs The Beatles made their way to Candlestick Park, Paul McCartney asked their press officer Tony Barrow to make a recording of the concert on audio cassette, using a hand-held recorder. The cassette lasted 30 minutes on each side, and, as Barrow didn’t flip it during the show, the recording cut off during final song ‘Long Tall Sally’ “There was a sort of end of term spirit thing going on, and there was also this kind of feeling amongst all of us around The Beatles, that this might just be the last concert that they will ever do. I remember Paul, casually, at the very last minute, saying, ‘Have you got your cassette recorder with you?’ and I said, ‘Yes, of course.’ Paul then said, ‘Tape it will you? Tape the show,’ which I did, literally just holding the microphone up in the middle of the field. As a personal souvenir of the occasion, it was a very nice thing to have and the only difference was that it wasn’t a spectacular occasion. It was nothing like Shea Stadium, there was nothing special about it at all, except that The Beatles did put in extra ad-libs and link material which they hadn’t put in before on any other occasion ”Tony BarrowBarrow gave the original tape of the Candlestick Park concert to McCartney. He also made a single copy, which was kept in a locked drawer in Barrow’s office desk. The recording has since become widely circulated on bootlegs, although quite how is not known. At San Francisco airport, as our plane prepared to take off, Paul’s head came over the top of my seat from the row behind: ‘Did you get anything on tape?’ I passed the cassette recorder back to him: ‘I got the lot, except that the tape ran out in the middle of Long Tall Sally.’ He asked if I had left the machine running between numbers to get all the announcements and the boys’ ad lib remarks. I said: ‘It’s all there from the guitar feedback before the first number.’ Paul was clearly chuffed to have such a unique souvenir of what would prove to be an historic evening – the farewell stage show from the Fab Four.Back in London I kept the concert cassette under lock and key in a drawer of my office desk, making a single copy for my personal collection and passing the original to Paul for him to keep. Years later my Candlestick Park recording re-appeared in public as a bootleg album. If you hear a bootleg version of the final concert that finishes during Long Tall Sally it must have come either from Paul’s copy or mine, but we never did identify the music thief! The final show saw perhaps a slightly more energetic performance than usual from The Beatles, and was longer than their usual 20-25 minute duration. They barely paused between songs, although their on-stage patter was notably looser and less scripted than normal.Although I didn’t fancy my chances of making a brilliant recording of the concert, one thing in my favour was the great distance between the stage and the stands at this particular venue. Because of this, I guessed I might be able to capture sound from the stage without picking up too much of the non-stop screams and shouts of the fans coming from the stands. The fact that it was an open-air gig also helped. In an enclosed auditorium it would have been impossible to pick up the sound of the music without picking up too much crowd noise. When the last of the supporting acts came off stage I went out on the field ahead of the boys. When John, Paul, George and Ringo ran out across the grass a roar of approval went up from the stands and, as they did a quickie tune-up on stage, each chord they played caused a further roar. One of the US deejays in our travelling party, who I had prevented from recording an earlier concert on the tour, saw me holding my mike up in the air and mimicked my words of warning back to me: ‘On Brian Epstein’s orders there must be no recording of the performances. Please turn off.’ With a finger to my lips, I indicated to him to shut up, I didn’t want extraneous voices on my ‘official’ concert recording.Up on stage one of the boys yelled ‘Hello’ to test his voice mike and in another moment the group tore into Chuck Berry’s ‘Rock And Roll Music’ Particularly revealing are McCartney’s comments before ‘Paperback Writer’, during which he questions the group’s future; and ‘Long Tall Sally’, which may have carried a veiled reference to the withdrawn ‘butcher’ artwork for Yesterday… And Today.“Thank you! Thank you very much everybody, and hello, good evening. We’d like to carry on with a song, not surprisingly, by, er, written by George. And this song was on our Rubber Soul LP. And the song is called ‘If I Needed, er, Someone’!Paul McCartneyThank you everybody, thank you. We’d like to carry on now, er, carry on together, at will – one together and all for one – with another number that used to be a single record back in, er… long time ago. And this one’s about the naughty lady called ‘Day Tripper’!John LennonThank you! Thank you. We’d like to carry on with something that’s very old indeed. And this one was recorded in about 1959, and it’s called ‘I Feel Fine’.George HarrisonLike to carry on with a song from Yesterday… And Today. And this was a single as well. And it features Paul singing a very nice song called ‘Yesterday’ George HarrisonThank you very much everybody. Thank you. And it’s, er, it’s a bit chilly. We’d like to do the next number now which is a special request, for all the wonderful backroom boys on this tour. And the song is ‘I Wanna Be Your Man’, and to sing it, Ringo!Paul McCartneyThank you Ringo. Lovely working with you, Ringo. We’d like to do another song now from our BBC [sic] album. And this ones called “He’s a real ‘Nowhere Man’, sitting in his nowhere land”. Oh yeah!John LennonWe’d like to carry on, I think. We’re not really sure yet. I’d like to carry on, certainly. Definitely. Well, shall we just watch this for a bit? Just watch it. The next song is called ‘Paperback Writer’.Paul McCartneyThank you very much everybody. Everybody, wonderful. Frisco, butchered. We’d like to say that, erm, it’s been wonderful being here, in this wonderful sea air. Sorry about the weather. And we’d like to ask you to join in and, er, clap, sing, talk, do anything. Anyway, the song is… good night.Paul McCartney, introducing ‘Long Tall Sally’Just before leaving the stage, John Lennon teasingly played the opening bars of ‘In My Life’, before running off to join the rest of the group backstage. The Beatles were quickly taken to the airport in an armoured car. They flew from San Francisco to Los Angeles, arriving at 12.50am. During the flight George Harrison was heard to exclaim: “That’s it, then. I’m not a Beatle anymore.”
The first picture is with the album in the plastic it is stored in; the other pictures were taken with the plastic off. I am being very conservative with the grading of the cover. I have sold two 1st state Beatles Butchers on eBay, and each had a COA from Perry Cox. I still have two 1st states left, and when this one is gone, I am thinking twice about cutting loose with my very last 1st state. I was seriously considering having Perry certify this one, but time is of the essence for me at this time. As you can see by the photos, there are no serious seam splits: 3/4 inch very

January marked the 47th year anniversary release of Wings Over America - way back in 1977. This incredible recording is often considered the best live LP of Paul McCartney's solo career. Some say it is the best live album ever made.Even more impressive it that this Gold Record was personally owned by WINGS trumpeter and flautist Steve Howard, renowned Horn Section member from 1975 to 1980. His work can be heard throughout iconic Wings recordings of the time including "Wings at the Speed of Sound," "Wings Over America," "Back To The Egg," and the amazing "Rockestra Theme," among others. This specific Gold Album Award was presented to Steve Howard to commemorate the sale of more 500,000 copies of the band's 1976 triple-live album, their only live release. Compiled from all recorded shows of the band's Wings Over America Tour, the album was another success for Paul McCartney and the band (their fifth and final consecutive chart-topping release), reaching #1 in the US early in 1977 and #8 in the UK, ultimately selling several million copies. The award is framed to an overall size of 17.5" X 21.5" and is in EXCELLENT condition - only slight wear to the gold frame. I acquired this item from Steve Howard's sale of personal memorabilia from his days with Wings when he auctioned these nearly 15 years ago. Steve and I are both from Dallas and I personally talked with him about this item and his storied career on the day of his auction since he was in attendance for his sale. Please see attached photos where I am pictured with him on this occasion. And over many years previous to this, I had gotten to know him and visit with him as his musical ensemble played in small venues locally. So, make no mistake, this item came from Steve Howard himself and is an authentic Gold Record, not a manufactured collectible. Auction paperwork provided will also attest to its provenance. I have made grainy screen captures from the "Rockestra Theme" video where you can see Steve featured prominently. It has been an honor to own this incredible piece of Wings/Paul McCartney History. Now, the time is here for another curator to enjoy for many more years to come. This is the perfect gift for a superfan, for a spouse or partner, or for yourself. This is truly a wonderful display piece for the discerning Wings collector or awards collector. It's just a fabulous item from one of the most iconic Wings albums. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. Below I have included more background on Steve Howard from sites around the internet. No doubt his solo horn flourishes are among the most memorable of the Wings era. You have enjoyed his work for decades. What a storied past!More on Steve Howard:From The Cavern Club:A native of Texas, trumpeter Steve Howard moved to New Orleans in the early 1970’s. There he was discovered by record producer songwriter Allen Toussaint, who hired Steve to be his lead trumpet player at the legendary Sea-Saint Studio. While at Sea-Saint Steve played on Touissaint’s “Southern Nights” album and Patti LaBelle’s album, which included the classic “Lady Marmalade.”In 1975 Paul McCartney came to New Orleans to record the Wings album “Venus and Mars.” Steve was called to play on McCartney’s “Call Me Back Again.” Several months later when McCartney was assembling his band for the Wings world tour, horn arranger Tony Dorsey called Steve to join the Wings horn section.Steve went on to record on “Wings at the Speed of Sound,” Wings Over America,” “Back to the Egg,”and Rockestra.” He toured with Wings from 1975-1980 and appeared in all of the Wings films and videos. From Club Sandwich, No 17, 1980:Steve Howard Jr., who plays trumpet and flute, was born in Dallas, Texas in 1947. He attended North Texas State University before moving to Dallas where he worked on hotel and dance jobs, including the Jack Jones Show and Roger Miller Show.In 1973 Steve went to New Orleans to work with Lon Price. Later he worked with Allen Toussaint at Sea-Saint Studios, playing on the Nightbirds’ album “Lady Marmalade” and also on Toussaint’s album “Southern Nights”.After working with Wings in Nashville and on the world tour, Steve returned to Dallas with his English wife Jane Buck (ex-MPL), to settle down with her and their daughter Chloe, who is now 16 months old. As Dallas is a centre forjingle work, Steve has done many bread and butter jobs for various TV and radio commercials. He’s also toured with Tom Jones, and with the Ray Charles Orchestra in 1977.In his spare time Steve enjoys fishing. He also works in his parents’ restaurant in Lake Dallas, The Duck Inn, which he says, “pulls up the tight ends between jobs”.
He told my sister and I (14yrs and 17yrs) that he would get the Beatles autographs for us. GEORGE HARRISON. THE BEATLES. 1964 AUTOGRAPHED PROGRAM CARD PAPER.
The paper cut is autographed by John Lennon in hard ink and inscribed with "Love From in the 1970sI purchased this about 20 years ago and I’m downsizing my collection I got a note from someone that got another To Angela from Lennon in the early 60’s in person as shown in last photo for comparison… Obviously the signed postcard is not included just the paper in first photos.
For sale is an excellent set of quite large individually signed Beatles autographs in matching blue ink - John Lennon (2.5 x 2 inches), Paul McCartney (3x2 inches), George Harrison (3 x 1.5 inches), and Ringo Starr (3 x 1.5 inches) on stiff off-white card. The Lennon signature is a little light at the beginning where the pen has not quite taken and there are minor indentations to the cards for John and George where they have tried repeatedly to start writing their signature with a pen that did not work. The Paul card is slightly irregularly cut on the right hand side. Acc

eBay For sale is this authentic PORTRAIT COVER mono LP album of ‘The Beatles & Frank Ifield’ issued by Vee Jay Records in September of 1964 in The United States. As you probably know only thousand of this covers were manufactured & our a HOLY GRAIL in collecting Beatles memorabilia. This is the first one I have owned in 50 years of collecting The Beatles. The cover has a cutout hole on the top left corner because this album sold terribly in late 1964 & had to be discounted. Buyers of Beatles albums were fed up at the time from all this Vee Jay reissues with the same songs. The matching mono record is also in very good+ condition with ‘MR’ in the matrix of the deadwax. This Beatles HOLY GRAIL is featured on my latest YouTube video on my ‘MR Stickermania’ channel. Thanks Frank
