eBay The Beatles 1967 Original Vintage Psychedelic Richard Avedon Posters. These are an ORIGINAL lithograph printing of the world famous portraits of The Beatles that Richard Avedon took in London, UK in 1967. My dad purchased them soon after their release to the public in 1968 when he was stationed in Texas while in the Army. I found them in their original mailing tube after he passed away. I have the individual portraits of John Lennon, George Harrison, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr. I also have the black/white group portrait famously known as the 'Mount Rushmore'.From Sotheby's: In August 1967, the American photographer Richard Avedon met with the Beatles in Thompson House, London and took a number of photographic portraits of the band. Avedon used a new solarization technique with the photographs and adorned them with psychedelic saturation effects. The were first published in January of the following year in Look Magazine in the US, and Daily Express in the UK. They were wildly popular and were subsequently sold as this poster set.The banner image nicknamed the 'Mount Rushmore' image of the Beatles was actually a collage of four separate photographs. These black and white images are some of the most recognizable portraits of the band.PLEASE NOTE: There are some tiny, minor creases mainly on Ringo (zoom into all photos) and a crinkle in the Mount Rushmore towards the bottom. My guess is by their condition that my dad never hung them up. So I think the color is very true to its original color as well. In other words, I doubt they ever saw sunshine.
Note: This item has been sold and is no longer available. This page serves as a historical price reference for Beatles collectors and appraisers.
